Dear John,

Obviously you choose to interpret the facts in a manner that will protect your image. Please understand that it is not and it never has been my intention to minimize your contribution. I believe that I made that abundantly clear in my previous email to you. Having said this let me reiterate the following points one last time

1) We were invited guests in Ottawa. Why you choose to interpret our presence in Ottawa as partisan is something that is perplexing to me. For the record you did not invite us. Let me assure you that had you or your party invited us we would have been more than pleased to meet with you. Let me also inform you that we have asked for a meeting with the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and despite his personal assurances to me that he will make that happen it has yet to materialize. When the Leader extends that invitation we will happily meet with him and his representatives.

2) It was you and not any of the Hellenic organizations that chose to publicly diminish our contribution (with your Press Release). At no time did we suggest that your efforts were not important.

There is a lot that can be written that substantiates our perception of the events that transpired in response to your letter as our position differs considerably from yours. Out of respect for you and your office I will endeavour to explain things to you on a personal level at your convenience. Given some of your comments in your communique to us I am certain that you would agree that furthering the rhetoric with this type of communication is not very productive.

In closing please rest assured that we will continue to seek a strong working relationship with you and all of our elected representatives at all levels of government.

Sincerely,

Costas Menegakis
